Confined Space Awareness (8hr)

The Confined Space Awareness course offers a basic yet in depth concept of how to manage a Confined Space. With in-depth coverage in class, the hands-on aspect and finally the test, this is the most flushed out Confined Space Awareness courses offered. Paratus Rescue personnel, ranging from qualified Firefighters, Paramedics, Military and Nurses, will cover the following aspects in this course:

  • Ontario Legislation 
  • Hazard Recognition 
  • Confined Space Permits
  • Access & Egress
  • Atmospheric Hazards
  • Gas Detection (Hands-On)
  • Respiratory Protection SCBA & SABA (Hands-On) *Turnout Timing Test*
  • P.P.E 
  • Lock Out / Tag Out System
  • Rescue Equipment & Basics
  • Fire Hazards
  • On-site Medical Care
  • Communication (Hands-On)

The course will conclude with a hands-on scenario and a written test. Upon completion the individual will receive Paratus Emergency Services Confined Space Awareness Certificate (PDF, Physical, Wallet) & Paratus Rescue T-Shirt.


Confined Space Rescue (16hr)

The Confined Space Rescue course is a far more in-depth course. Combining one day of Confined Space Awareness and another of Confined Space Rescue focusing more on the hands-on aspect. After this course you will have the knowledge and the skills to be able to recognize the hazards and understand the legislation pertaining to confined spaces. In addition, we will cover the following (All Hands-On):

CPR & First Aid (Basic Life Support)

Min. 2 - Max. 6 Persons Per Class
$65 + HST - Re-certification
$95 + HST - Certification

Basic Life Support  (BLS) participants are trained to recognize life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver ventilations and provide early use of an AED.

BLS is designed for; healthcare providers and trained first responders providing care to patients in pre-hospital or in-facility settings; and those who require BLS certification to enter a healthcare-related training program.
